Personal Branding at the Nordic Career Forum in London

The Nordic Career Forum is taking place on the 15th of March this year and the focus is on personal branding. I am a speaker together with Mandy Lehto, Martin Falch, Per Wimmer and the guys from Wildfire. My talk will be on social media and how you can use it to manage your brand. Here's the official description of the event:

The Nordic Career Forum is an annual career fair organised for the 4th time by the four Nordic Chambers of Commerce in London [that includes Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark]. The event is primarily targeting young professionals and people who are looking to build their own personal brand.

The event will give corporate members and associates of the organising chambers a unique opportunity to gain understanding of, and access to a highly regarded work force from the Nordic countries and the UK.

The topic of the Nordic Career Forum 2012 will be “Discover and Build Your Personal Brand” with the aim of creating an understanding for what a personal brand is, and how each individual can benefit from it. By arranging a forum for professionals and companies to meet, the Nordic Chambers aim at providing an opportunity for dialog and a platform for networking.

Hope to see you on the 15th! And if you're still not convinced, here's an ad that was run in the London daily City AM today.

4 Pirate Personal Branding Tips by Glenn @Lesanto

My good buddy Glenn Lesanto was kind enough to give a talk at my Personal Branding UK Meetup last month. His background as a journalist, live reporter and social media conversation catalyst made for a very interesting session. Here are my greatest takeaways from the evening.

1. We are all looking for some kind of advancement with personal branding

Whether you're looking to manage your career, find new clients, get speaking engagements or finding an investor - we should all have a purpose with our personal brand. In Glenn's case it's about being visible and in the conversation (could be Twitter, could be a conference) to be on the radar screen of commissioning editors and anyone that needs a writer/reporter. In my own case, I use personal branding to attract more clients for social recruiting projects as well as LinkedIn training sessions. Most of the people that come to this particular meetup are either career changers or have started up a business, they understand the need to be seen in their markets.

Personal Branding Workshop, London Oct 12th [Your Discount Inside]

Scroll down for your 20% discount!

Yes you guessed it, Malcolm Levene and myself are up to it again; our full day workshop Personal Branding from the Inside Out is happening on the 12th of October at the Langham Court hotel in central London. If you are looking to boost your own brand, whether you are an entrepreneur, in a career or own a business - this is the workshop for you.

Previous attendees say they enjoy how Malcolm and I complement each other, his approach is more from a personal development perspective and mine is more about marketing and strategy (see the events page for more testimonials).

Our 10 steps training programme will cover your Personal Brand from A to Z (or from the Inside Out!). The 10 steps are:

1. Authenticity

The dictionary meaning we’re attaching to authenticity is ‘undisputed credibility’. Being known as someone who has undisputed credibility is vital to gain a top-notch following. Passion, intention, purpose and integrity are pivotal. We will demonstrate how you can tell whether you are considered as someone who’s authentic. Moreover, you’ll discover your purpose and attributes, so that communicating authentically will be easier and more effective.

Making New Friends at the London LinkedIn Meetup

We just hosted another very successful LinkedIn London meetup last night with some 60 people joining us at the Pitcher & Piano in Holborn. This event is all about how to use LinkedIn for career and business success, a topic that seems to be very useful for most professionals.
